Unparalleled construction, with service to match.
Steve Ratzlaff
President
Steve is one of the most well-liked contractors in commercial construction, with a history spanning 30+ years in the Charlotte area. He began his career in 1986 as a superintendent after earning a civil engineering degree from NC State University. By 1990 Steve was managing projects, from small commercial upfits to large, complex projects including Metrolina YMCA, Piedmont Community Charter School, Long Animal Hospital, Davidson College Admissions Building, and car dealerships for both Infinity and Mercedes Benz.
In 2016, Steve founded Ratzlaff Construction. His experience with construction estimating, design-build projects and cost analysis & feasibility studies makes him a valuable asset to both client and project teams. Steve is known to run a solid and transparent business, facing any issues head-on, working to resolve them and ensuring projects continue to move forward.
When he’s not working, Steve can be found with his wife Margie and another long-married couple playing in a bluegrass band called The River Ratz. Steve loves singing and playing bluegrass, whether for locals at bars and breweries or for the elderly at Aldersgate Retirement Community. Steve and his wife hav three grown children.
